In this study, the feasibility of utilizing vermicomposting process as a sustainable technology to biotransform wastewater sludge produced from treatment pond of POME into organic fertilizer was evaluated. The ratio of amendment to wastewater sludge that gave the highest quality of vermicompost and earthworm growth was determined. Maturity and stability of the vermicompost was tested using chemical, biological and instrumental analysis. The overall study demonstrated the vermicomposting as a simple and cost effective solution in managing the wastewater sludge. %I Monash University
