Stormwater management in urban areas has been one of the major concerns as by increasing rate of urbanization stormwater runoff quantity has increased while its quality has been significantly deteriorated. This thesis studies the performance of tropical biofiltration system as one of the techniques of stormwater management in laboratory basis. The main objective of this study is to identify the appropriate components of biofiltration system for tropical condition. This includes finding proper soil media composition and suitable plants by considering parameters such as infiltration rate and pollutants removal efficiency.
