In Sarawak, Malaysia, sago waste has received considerable interest as a source of chemical feedstock due to their high abundance, renewability, biodegradation and low cost of production. In this study, sago palm waste is being used to produce carboxymethyl sago cellulose (CMSC) which could be useful in developing vegetarian capsules and to enhance dissolution of poorly water soluble drugs. %I Monash University
