The recognition, prevention and treatment of this is evolving. Loss of bone mass after critical illness may contribute to disability, because of an increased risk of fracture and death. This thesis investigates the relationship between critical illness, bone loss, and fracture, and proposes a study to prevent this from occurring. %I Monash University
