WONG, KAH PENG Examining the viability of online counselling: An exploration of the processes involved in asynchronous online counselling This research examined the viability of having universities across Malaysia at providing Asynchronous Online Counselling (AOC) as an alternative to Face-to-Face counselling services for university students. It also further explored the processes belonging to AOC via live-sessions with 11 voluntary participants. The findings suggested that effective AOC requires the counsellor to adopt more customised personal sharing in order to develop greater trust with the online participants. online counselling;character building;rapport building;working alliance;online therapy;fear management;building trust;Organizational Behavioral Psychology;Counselling, Welfare and Community Services;Educational Psychology;Developmental and Educational Psychology 2019-03-14
