Outer membrane proteins in this layer, typically require catalytic help from members of the Omp85 protein superfamily for functional assembly into this membrane. In this study, the regulation and function of previously uncharacterised Omp85 protein members in the clinically relevant bacteria Klebsiella pneumoniae were investigated. The results from this study highlight the diversity and potential functional roles of these proteins which may enable these bacteria to better adapt and survive a wider range of environments. %I Monash University
