AFENTINA, AFENTINA Ecosystem services of rattan agroforestry in Tumbang Runen village, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia My study contributes to understanding the role of traditional land use systems in supporting livelihoods, maintaining biodiversity, and avoiding environmental degradation. The study identifies and examines ecosystem services associated with rattan agroforestry systems including, regulating, cultural, and provisioning services in Tumbang Runen village, Indonesia. My study shows that rattan agroforestry generates regulating services such as habitat provision, climate regulation, and soil erosion prevention. Rattan agroforestry is culturally important for forest-dependent communities in Indonesia and provides products for subsistence and commercial needs. The capacity of rattan agroforestry to maintain ecosystem services is contrasted with continuing destructive forestry practices in Indonesia.
