This table presents an overview of key knowledge skills and understandings we feel underpin successful participation in lifelong informal sports and physical activity. We suggest that contemporary trends in participation call for greater recognition of personal and social skills as a central facet of lifelong participation, and an enhanced focus on transferability of skills, knowledge and understandings across participation contexts. %I Monash University
