Once applying 3D printing technology to concrete, it shows great potential. However, some practical challenges appear. In this thesis, several issues this technology on concrete are discussed. It puts forward alternatives for improving interlayer bonding strength firstly. Then, it discusses the risk of durability problems, and tries to enhance it by nano-engineered approaches. Finally, it talks about 2D sensing materials for potential strain sensing in 3D printed structures in the future.
