Compared to the traditional modalities, a 3D-printed model can provide haptic feedback enhancing spatio-temporal understanding of the anatomy. As key patents expire, 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is becoming more affordable and accessible for clinicians. In the current study, I have established bespoke bedside Peninsula 3D printing workflow solution using open-access software and desktop 3D printers, demonstrated its utility in plastic surgery and, more specifically, in breast reconstructive surgery.
