PORTER, LAURA HELEN Pathological and genomic features of high-risk prostate cancer Prostate cancer is still associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. To improve survival outcomes, there is a need to identify new biomarkers of high-risk disease. This thesis investigated the sub-pathology intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDC-P), demonstrating that IDC-P is prevalent in high-risk prostate cancer and is associated with aggressive growth characteristics. This thesis also explored novel therapeutic strategies, identifying a new combination therapy that is effective for aggressive prostate cancers. This work is significant as it will improve the clinical management of patients with high-risk prostate cancer. Prostate cancer;Cancer 2019-05-07
