Klingler, Jennifer The future of authorities and identifiers in national & international data sources & ROI, the Monash perspective Presentation to ANZREG 2018: Monash University cataloguers use NACO to create authority records. This then puts these in the Community zone in Alma for use by other Alma users providing a seamless workflow with authority records linking to bibliographic records. Cataloguers also put identifiers in these NACO records-ORCID, VIAF, ISNI, etc. URIs in the 670s of these records also link to Monash University researcher profiles in PURE. NACO records are automatically in VIAF and the LC linked data service, thus creating linked data. As library systems enable their systems to use linked data our records will be ready to be part of linked data.

authorities;NACO;Linked Data;Identifiers, Persistent Identifiers, Metadata, URI, URL, Uniqueness, Strings, Works, Collections, Services,;metadata practices;ANZREG;VIAF;Library annual report;Information Systems;Information Systems Management;Librarianship 2019-05-09
