Development of Visible-Light-Active All-Solid-State Z-Scheme System for Highly Efficient Photocatalytic Overall Water Splitting NGBOON JUNN 2019 As the world decides on the next giant step for renewable energy revolution, scientists have begun to reinforce its headlong dive into the exploration of solar energy. In this project, a recreation of artificial photosynthesis system that mimics green plant can be witnessed in rational design of semiconductors coupling facilitated by nanocarbon as electron mediator. This ingenious arrangement of materials in nanoscale renders photocatalytic pure water splitting and converts solar energy into usable chemical fuel, namely hydrogen. As is known, hydrogen contains high energy density and is anticipated to pave a feasible approach in contributing into the future energy mix.
