Processing xylan rich residues to produce prebiotic- xylooligosaccharides RAMKRISHNA SINGH 10.26180/5d9d62b350490 https://bridges.monash.edu/articles/thesis/Processing_xylan_rich_residues_to_produce_prebiotic-_xylooligosaccharides/9937955 The thesis presents work related to value-addition of residues obtained from agricultural and allied practices to produce a health-relevant product, a prebiotic. The prebiotic (Xylooligosaccharide) acts as food for beneficial gut bacteria and has putative health benefits. A chemical based and an alternative green process was studied to produce a low degree of polymerisation XOS. The in-vitro fermentation of produced XOS using human faeces and bacterium (Lactobacillus) supported the prebiotic potential. 2019-10-09 04:31:46 Xylooligosaccharides prebiotics lignocellulosic residues Bioprocessing, Bioproduction and Bioproducts
