This thesis is centred on developing a printed, flexible counter electrode for Dye Sensitized Solar Cells. The proposed electrode comprises flexible nickel foil as a conducting substrate and the conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene p-toluenesulfonate) as the as the catalytic material. This alternate electrode could reduce production cost, with respect to both monetary cost and energy cost, by reducing the cost of materials and enabling simple, rapid throughput production using roll to roll printing techniques.
