A biochemical characterisation of the MACPF/CDC pore assembly
thesis
posted on 2019-03-12, 03:12 authored by BRADLEY ALAN SPICERThe blood plasma contains vital immune proteins for defending against bacteria. This thesis determines high-resolution structures of a giant pore forming protein in the plasma called the Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). Furthermore, a biochemical examination provides a mechanism of how MAC proteins assemble, and an improved understanding of the immune system.
