The strength of the Aboriginal domain in western New South Wales is suggested by the fact that 94 per cent of children from intermarriages are classified by their parents as Aboriginal. Census data also indicate that people in mixed marriages in this area are economically better off, especially in regard to housing, than those in marriages where both partners are Indigenous. This raises questions about possible transformation of the Aboriginal domestic moral economy and the place of sharing within it. Copyright. Monash University and the author/s
