There has been a tightening of the Australian labour market for economists during the 1990s yet, despite this, there has been a continued substantial net inflow of migrants economists. The impact of this inflow has been particularly severe on the academic economist labour market, which is one of the weakest submarkets for professionals with training in economics. Copyright.
