Bonded Sleeve Beam-Column Connections for FRP Structures

thesis
posted on 2018-01-29, 23:03 authored by ZHUJING ZHANG
This PhD study proposed an innovative bonded sleeve beam-column connection for fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) building structures, which employs a sleeve connector formed by welding a steel tube to a steel endplate. The static and cyclic performance of the proposed bonded sleeve connections have been examined at both joint level and structural level through experimental and numerical studies. The proposed bonded sleeve connection exhibits a favourable ductile failure behaviour and an excellent energy dissipation capacity through yielding of the sleeve connector, which are beneficial to the application of FRP materials in building structures.
