DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-PERFORMANCE CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITES: BIOINSPIRED DESIGN, DIGITAL FABRICATION, AND AI-BASED CHARACTERIZATION

thesis
posted on 2019-12-11, 06:24 authored by WEI WANG
The application of cementitious material is still limited by its brittle nature and the exponential decrease in compressive strength with the reduction of density. Inspired by the outstanding structural materials in nature such as nacre and bone, this Ph.D. study aims to develop a high-performance 3D cellular cementitious material (CCM) with the combination of bioinspiration, digital fabrication, and artificial intelligence (AI).
