Multi-fluid flow over and within porous media occurs frequently in nature and plays an important role in engineering applications, such as seawater intrusion into fresh groundwater aquifers, carbon dioxide migration in groundwater aquifers and oil and water flow in petroleum reservoirs. Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is used to develop a model capable of simulating these flow. Available SPH schemes are compared to select an appropriate scheme. The appropriate scheme was used to develop a model capable of simulating multi-fluid flow in porous media. The model further developed to simulate applications such as sea water intrusion and freshwater pumping from aquifers.
