Treatment options are limited for breast cancer patients whose cancer has spread to other organs. The spreading of tumour cells can be promoted by certain immune cells, therefore this thesis examines how this occurs. It characterises how a treatment designed for inflammatory conditions such as arthritis may also benefit breast cancer patients. This treatment reduces these villain-like immune cells without increasing the risk of infection.
