Synthesis and Reactivity of Novel Low Oxidation State Tetrel Compounds Utilising Bulky Amide Ligands

thesis
posted on 2018-02-22, 04:03 authored by JOHN ANTHONY KELLY
This thesis outlines the synthesis of unique Group 14 (Si-Pb) compounds. It covers the development of large ligand molecules and how they are utilised in stabilising reactive compounds, including metal clusters. The physical properties of said compounds is examined and their reactivity with small molecules (dihydrogen, carbon dioxide) is probed.
