Understanding the Adoption and Implementation of Health Information Systems in Indonesia: Socio-technical Perspective
thesis
posted on 2019-11-02, 04:52 authored by Hadi HariyantoThe implementation of health information systems (HIS) faces significant challenges in developing countries due to complex socio-technical interactions in the healthcare context.
Unfortunately, most HIS literature focuses on identifying successful or inhibiting factors, which usually fail to reveal facts that HIS implementations are fluid over space and time.
This thesis studies the adoption and implementation of HIS in two districts in Indonesia. The objective of this study is to understand how socio-technical factors shape each other and influence the stability of the implementation. This approach allows researchers to understand the essential component of HIS evaluations: content, context, process and outcome.
