Linguistic and co-speech gestural patterns of spatiotemporal metaphors in Indonesian

Published on by Gede Primahadi Wijaya Rajeg
To describe the representation of TIME in terms of SPACE in Indonesian. This initial phase of the project begins with (i) corpus-based data of linguistic metaphors in an Indonesian Leipzig Corpus (c15 mill. word-tokens) and (ii) a sample of co-speech gestures of talk show participants (four top Indonesian singers) when they talk about temporal reference (e.g., events progression, events ordering). Early results of this project have been accepted for presentation at the 15th International Cognitive Linguistics Conference (ICLC 15) in Nishinomiya, Japan (6-9 August 2019). Feedback and comments are welcome for the progression of the project!
